Are you that person? You’ve always been a little different; maybe even a bit of a rebel. You refuse to make New Year’s resolutions on the principle of the matter. You’re not a sheep following what everyone does for the sake of setting your own path.
Thing is, is the path leading you or are you choosing your path?
What if your desire to choose your own path has unintentionally had the opposite effect and left you wandering?
Setting goals doesn’t have to mean you are one of the flock. You can set your own direction. What if you decided that your adventures needed to be set for a new destination in July? Or May?
In the movie, The Star, Ruth, was a lamb with an adventurous spirit. She was sure that she had been chosen to live a different life and to be part of something larger than herself. In her quest to do so, she made some amazing friends, experienced some heartbreak that led to incredible personal growth, and ultimately led the flock to be part of a grand purpose.
The fact is, it doesn’t matter when you choose to examine your course and set your next few milestones. What matters is that you take the time to look at where you are and determine whether or not you’re heading where you want.
Who knows? Maybe by looking to a different pasture you will have a profound impact on the flock.
